Chocolate Cherry Creme Cupcakes
To round out my cupcake making mania, I whipped up another batch of cupcakes this weekend to celebrate Sophie's Birthday, Part Two. This is my sixth dozen in the past few weeks, the fifth variety I've tried, by far the most ambitious, and definitely my favorite. Again using the Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World cookbook, this time I selected the stacked-up Chocolate Cherry Creme Cupcakes.

The recipe includes three main parts: Basic Chocolate Cupcake, Vegan Fluffy Buttercream Frosting, and a cherry sauce.

I made the cupcakes and cherry sauce a day ahead, and the frosting in the morning. About an hour before our guests arrived, I put them all together. It wasn't hard, but next time I'd make a few adjustments to my assembly technique. The hardest part was keeping everyone's mitts off of them until after dinner.
