Cloved Fruit Salad
When I plan a menu, I make my choices around what I'm going to serve for a main course. And although I try to make very balanced meals, I don't usually make very fancy sides - mostly just trying to make sure we have vegetables. There are times though, when a nice fruit side is needed. When those times arrive, this is the salad I always choose.

Shown here with oranges, strawberries, green grapes, cherries and blueberries - my favorite combination.
This salad is so easy to make and is always a crowd pleaser. Almost any fruit can be used (short of melons and apples), and looks very pretty when using a variety of fruit colors - oranges, blueberries, blackberries, green grapes, pear. The clove flavor is kind of strong, and is especially nice to serve with fall and winter flavors.
