Curried Cauliflower Soup
Over the years, I've gotten over some of the foods that were on my "most hated" list as a kid. I've grown to enjoy bananas (now that I've let go of the visual of them as a fruit fly farm), will occasionally have gorgonzola (still no blue cheese, but this is close enough for me), and will have swiss cheese on a sandwich now and then. I still do not eat eggs (it's the flavor, not the idea) or animal organ meat (it's the flavor AND the idea). And up until this week, I was wholly avoiding cauliflower. I just don't like it. It's squeaky on your teeth, it smells like the hard parts of cabbage when raw, and smells like feet when cooked. Gross.
Unless, apparently, you cook it up with some apple and curry and puree it. Then it becomes DELICIOUS. The only drawback, according to Marty, is that if you make it your house will smell like The International House of Curry. But to me, it was worth it.
