This winter I probably made more soup than I ever have before.  Our freezer is well stocked with single and double-servings of soup, and I'm pretty sure that everyone here has reached their fill of soups, myself included.  But yesterday, as the house was filled with people coughing and sneezing and demanding politely asking for water, I started thinking about how good a bowl of creamy potato soup would taste on my sore throat.  I found a recipe for one that sounded pretty good, but had to make some changes based on the ingredients I had on hand.  The result was pretty tasty - lightly creamy, soothing, and filled with bacon flavor.  Because nothing cures what ails you like some bacon.
